The Filming Begins!
ACTION!
Today I started filming and I knew which scenes I needed to do in order to get them done as quickly as possible. The first thing I did was get into costume, I wore a jacket and jeans with messy makeup and hair. The takes I wanted to do first was the ones filmed on the road since in my opinion are the ones that are complicated. I need to put more thought into them and think how they were gonna transition from the other scenes. The main reason for this was for the video to have smooth transitions but at the same time chaotic which can be done with editing. The first scene I did was one of the car window since I needed to get to a location first, so on the way there I filmed that. The video is compromised from buildings, the view from the window, and roads all moving in a fast pace. I got to my location shortly after and toke the first scene which was a close up scene to show the actor and just to establish who the actor is. I took around 4-5 takes with the scene. I then moved on to the next scene which took a while in my opinion.
The next scene is the actor walking down the road with a Cherry coke in hand. On the way to the location, I couldn't find a Cherry Coke so we had to improvise and use a normal Coca-Cola. This scene is shot from a distance and shows almost the entire actor. This shot took I think the longest of this filming day, the shot took around 20 minutes and overall took 10 takes. The last scene took the most effort because of time consuming it is and this scene is heavily depending on editing. The scene is the actor in different location on the road it will seem like she is teleporting around. This will make the video chaotic and will just emphasize that something is wrong with her. So the first shot was her on one side of the road from a distance and the other from a different location and distance. I switched the location around for 4-6 times and we took several takes for each. Each take ended up being around 5-10 seconds. So this was in my opinion the most difficult one today. Since this was the last scene after I finished, I headed back home to check the footage and was ok with it. Now for tomorrow which I think will be easier.
Signing Off,
Kay.
