Production : Time and Patience!

It took time and patience but we did it!

At the moment we are doing the last things in order to finish editing. I've been not doing great with everything so I missed school for a couple days but I should be fine now. While I was absent my group members have been hard at work and I've been trying to keep up. They are nice enough to inform me of current updates with other classes and how everything is coming along, so I am thankful for that. But in the days I was gone, Sara S, who is editing said she is basically finished just needs a little more things to do. She had to make sure the volume for each scene fit with each other, that the transitions are fluid, and of course other things we think or she thinks need to be changed.

One of the first things she caught as the second song was a bit louder than the first. In order for them to sound even, she lowered the volume on the second and upped the first song's volume. This made the songs connect more fluidly and made everything fit together. She told us that she was there on her computer watching the video over and over just making sure nothing was cutting awkwardly. She found something and she said she's thankful she noticed it now because if she didn't it maybe would've been too late to do so. She missed a sharp cut so she added a dissolve transition, it added sort of a dreamy vibe to it. Since she rewatched the video countless of times she was able to catch other things. She wanted to empathize more that in the beginning it was dull and there was nothing special to it. What she did was desaturate these scenes to ensure that it was dull, boring and nothing to it. In order to see the complete difference between the ending and beginning she increased the saturation of the ending scenes which is after taking the bite of the doughnut.

She told us we should the actor more and we said do whatever you think is better. So she did, in order to show the actor more she shorten a clip which was awkwardly too long and added a bit of time to a clip where the actor was shown. She did this because she thought the actor was quickly appearing and disappearing out of nowhere.

When she showed us the final result we were all happy with it. She said we finished quicker than we thought. We all hope you end up liking it, we all put effort into it one way or another. Whether it was suggesting, pointing out mistakes, or simply making a comment.

Signing off,

Kay.
