Comparing 9, the short, and 9, the full-length movie

9

The short film isn't completely different from the full length but the most notable difference is how the plot progresses. The main reason for this is the time you have. Due to this you have to result to unconventional ways to tell a story, and this is what seperates short films from your longer and much more common film. Everything develops at different rates, such as character development will be on the quicker side with a unique twist to it. In this case there is absouletly no dialogue! This does in turn help the watcher pay much more attention to the actions of the character since again no one or nothing is speaking.  There is sound and music which helps in progressing the story and the characters.

With the full version of the film you have the full hour and nineteen to explain the story with much more details and progression is slower. Since you do have time you don't have to result in unique ways of telling a story. In this case, it sticks to a common way of telling a story but again there is no dialogue. But it is the standard, the storyline will span over weeks or months. Again there is time to esplain each character, their background and personality included.

The film itself is niche because it releys on action speaking. Both of the types of film do an amazing job at telling the story since that format doesn't change. Theres the beginning, reaching action, climax, falling action and finally the end. That hasn't changed and is the same for both. The full length did do a better job at explaining the characters and this is due to the lack of time constraint. I have watched both films mainly for one reason that being that I knew the Tim Burton was a producer of the film. I believe that he is an artist at his craft plus I like the style. I did like the full length version much better because to me it is memorizing; the fact that there was no dialogue was weird but I still enjoyed watching it. The film is niche in its own way both short and long.

Signing Off,

Kay.
